Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia, urban district in Western Province, on the western coast of Sri Lanka. It is a residential suburb on the southern edge of Colombo, the country's largest city. Although administered as a single unit, the district comprises several distinct communities, including Dehiwala, the health and beach resort of Mount Lavinia, and Galkissa. Population (1990 estimate) 196,000.
