Myingyan, town in central Myanmar (formerly known as Burma), in Mandalay Division, near the confluence of the Irrawaddy and Chindwin rivers. It is one of Myanmar's principal river ports, with rail connections south to Yangon (formerly known as Rangoon) and north to Mandalay.
