Restaurant Lafite Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur , 11 Jalan Sultan Ismail, 50250 Kuala Lumpur - 603.232 2388 Cuisine: French Review:A Drop in Standards Almost ten years ago it was the benchmark by which all other Western restaurants in Kuala Lumpur were rated. Today, lacklustre service and mediocre food make a mockery of its five-star prices and pretensions. The food was a faux-French blend of poorly-chosen ingredients that assaulted the palate. And the immaculately bow-tied waiters seemed inexperienced and inadequate. Disappointing all round, Lafite presents few qualities -- if any at all -- to recommend it.
