Kuala Lumpur has a number of major parks, including the Taman Tasek Perdana. Within this large park are the Bird Park, reputed to be the world's largest walk-in aviary; the Butterfly Park; the Hibiscus Garden; and the Orchid Garden. Other parks in and around KL include the Lake Titiwangsa Park and the Bukit Nanas Forest Preserve. The National Zoo and Aquarium lies 12 km (7 mi) east of the city center. Two large sports stadiums within the city, the Merdeka Stadium and the Stadium Negara (National Stadium), host athletic events. The Shah Alam Stadium is located nearby in Shah Alam. The metropolitan area also has a number of amusement and recreational parks, including Mimaland and Sunway Lagoon, Malaysia's largest water theme park.
