Pakxé, also Paksé, town, southwestern Laos, seat of Xédôn (Sédone) Province, on the Xédôn River, near its confluence with the Mekong River. A railroad junction and river port, Pakxé is a distribution point for products cultivated in the nearby Plateau des Bolovens, such as cardamom, tea, and cinchona.
