Kagawa Prefecture, Takamatsu - - Pictures


Takamatsu, city and port, Japan, northeastern Shikoku Island, capital of Kagawa Prefecture. It is a leading commercial center for all of Shikoku, and contains factories manufacturing cotton textiles, lacquerware, umbrellas, and pharmaceuticals. It is the site of a 14th-century castle and Kagawa University (1949). Population (1999) 332,740.
