Omiya, city, Japan, southern Honshu Island, in Saitama Prefecture, near Tokyo. A rail junction on the Tohoku Line, the city is the trade center of an agricultural area producing rice, silk, and wheat and has workshops of the National Railways. It is the site of the Hikawa Shrine, founded in the 5th century BC. Omiya Park has sports facilities.
