Kurashiki, city on southwestern Honshu Island, Japan, in Okayama Prefecture, an industrial center on the Inland Sea. Manufactures include textiles, petrochemicals, and motor vehicles. The traditional-style warehouses of the Edo period (1603-1867) are in the older sections of the city, on the Takahashi River.
