Gongzhuling, city in northeastern China, in Jilin province. Located on the north side of the Dongliao River, about 60 km (about 40 mi) southwest of the provincial capital, Changchun. Major industries in Gongzhuling include sugar production, beer brewing, metallurgy, electronics, and construction materials. Major rail and highway routes between Shenyang and Changchun pass through Gongzhuling. Formerly called Huaide, the city's name was officially changed in 1985.
