Yichun, city in Heilongjiang (Heilungkiang) Province, in northeastern China, at the confluence of two headstreams of the Songhua River. It is located in a thickly forested area of the Xiao Hinggan Ling (Lesser Khingan Range) and has an important lumbering industry. The city is connected by railroad with manufacturing centers to the south. Yichun was a small town until the 1950s, when it was developed as a lumbering center.
