Saidpur, city in northwestern Bangladesh, in northern Rajshahi Division, located about 160 km (about 100 mi) north of Rajshahi. Saidpur's main industries are jute mills. The city is connected by rail to Rajshahi and Rangpur. Its airport serves northern Bangladesh. Saidpur has a college affiliated with the University of Rajshahi. A major military base operates near the city. Population (1991) 110,494.
