Kwekwe, also Que Que, city, central Zimbabwe. It is a commercial and manufacturing center situated on rail and road lines midway between Harare and Bulawayo. Established in the early 20th century, the settlement developed first as a center for gold mining and later became a processing center for iron and steel and chromium. Population (1992) 75,425.
