Victoria, town in Seychelles, capital and principal port of the republic, off the eastern coast of Africa, in the Indian Ocean. The town is situated on the northeastern coast of Mahé Island and is bounded on three sides by low mountains. Its exports include copra, cinnamon bark, and fish. Victoria is also the center of the country's rapidly developing tourist industry. The nearby airport, completed in 1971, is the principal transportation link to the islands.
