Oshogbo, city, southwestern Nigeria, the capital of Osun State, near Ibadan. Oshogbo is serviced by a railroad and is a major center of cocoa processing; other industries include palm and tobacco processing, feldspar mining, and cotton weaving. In the surrounding area cotton, vegetables, grain, and cassava are produced. Population (1995 estimate) 465,000.
