Koforidua, city, southern Ghana, capital of the Eastern Region, near the Densu River and Accra. The city is on the Accra-Kumasi rail line and is a road and trade center. Cocoa is shipped from the city; palm products are processed and furniture manufactured here. Cacao, palm products, kola nuts, corn, and cassava are produced in the surrounding area.
