Foumban, also Foumbam, city, northwestern Cameroon, West Province, in western Africa. It is a trade hub for locally produced handicrafts and a shipping and processing center for the coffee, cocoa, and tobacco grown in the region. An 18th-century palace, formerly the residence of the Bamum kings, now houses a museum of art. Population (1985 estimate) 50,100.
